An animation showing electron density data in Jupiter's magnetosphere over several orbits of the Galileo spacecraft. The transitions indicate successive inbound and outbound passes as the spacecraft orbits Jupiter. Note the density is greatest at the equator (delta-Z = 0) and decreases above or below the equator. Notice also the changes in density from orbit to orbit, especially at larger distances from the equator.
