Current Students

Our students are bright, committed scholars who consistently make the Department proud with their achievements in research and education--our incoming freshman have an average ACT score 27.5, and each November we have the largest contingency of students presenting at the Argonne Undergraduate Symposium. They have won multiple local, university and national awards, including the American Physical Society Leroy Apker Award--the highest academic and research recognition awarded to an undergraduate Physics student in the United States.

As an undergraduate-only department, our students enjoy the benefits of a close faculty to student ratio as well as opportunities for research, employment, and scholarships. With so many opportunities our students keep themselves busy, participating in the many extracurricular Physics programs available through the Department, including the ISU Physics Club, Trebuchet Team, Solar Car Team, Physics on the Road, and the newly formed Physics Honors Society.
