Over the years the physics department has offered
much more than the usual study
abroad program:
for several years, we partnered with universities in other countries to offer students summer
undergraduate research experiences overseas.
These were faculty -developed programs funded by the National
Science Foundation and other external sources.
Students have lived
and participated in research projects in China
and Poland.
Often a life-changing experience, past participants report
the excitement of being part of the international effort
in physics and all the new experiences they've had in a different
culture. While these funded programs are currently unavailable, if you are interested in this kind of experience, let us know -- many of our professors have active collaborations with physicists in other countries, including China, Germany, France, and England, and opportunities for student research can be arranged. |
