Teacher Ethics & Student Cheating
Performance Objectives:
At the conclusion of this lesson the student will:
- distinguish between ethics, morals, and laws;
- identify at least two sources of professional teaching ethics;
- name the general areas to which professional teaching ethics apply;
- identify and explain the three main elements of a code of professional conduct:
- concern for the student,
- concern for the public, and
- concern for teaching as a profession.
- explain the meaning of and rationale for the various NEA teaching ethics;
- explain the ethics science students should follow in
class, lab, and homework;
- explain the basis for and types of student cheating;
- explain a number of ways to minimize cheating behavior.
