Universal Design for Learning

Student Performance Objectives:
- The teacher candidate will accurately characterize the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) by noting the four main components in the general education curriculum:
- goals and milestones for instruction (often expressed in the form of scope and sequence)
- media and materials to be used by students
- specific instructional methods
- means of assessment to measure student progress
- The teacher candidate will explain how UDL practices are beneficial to both mainstream students and students with exceptionalities
- The teacher candidate will explain what sort of practices often serve as signficant barriers to learning for exceptional children
