Note: An extensive physics teaching rationale will be provided by the course instructor following the in-class role playing projecs. Ask the course instructor to post it following the role play if he has not already done so.

Every physics teacher should have a physics teaching rationale. This rationale should address clearly and concisely the question, "Why teach Physics?" In this essay you will prepare detailed answers to the following questions:

  1. What benefit accrues to the students who study physics?
  2. What benefit does society realize when students study physics?
  3. What benefit does the profession of physics realize when students study physics?
  4. What benefits derive uniquely from the study of physics as opposed to the study of other science disciplines such as chemistry, biology, or environmental science?

In addition, your essay must satisfy the following general criteria:
