Students' Labs

See the students working in their labs. They worked closely with fellow Chinese undergraduates and graduate under the supervising of Chinese professors.
Lab Tours & Lectures

Dr. Blanpied, Director of NSF Tokyo Office, and Dr. Chang, Program manager of NSF East Asia Programs, visited our program at PKU and met our students. The students are encouraged by their visits. Click here for the list of lectures and lab tours attended.
Meeting with NSF directors

While at PKU, Dr. Blanpied, director of NSF Tokyo Office, and Dr. Chang, director of NSF INT E. Asia programs, visited our program and met our students. They encouraged students to take this opportunity to gain knowledge both in scientific research and international culture.
Visit to the US Embassy

The six students and Dr. Ren were invited to the US Embassy in Beijing on June 12. We met and had a one-hour discussion with Dr. Kurt Tung, the Science Counselor at the Embassy. This is the first experience for all students to visit an US Embassy. This meeting greatly informed the students about issues related to US and China.
Sight-Seeing Excursions

The students took trips on the weekends to famous sites around Beijing. They visited the Summer Palace, the Great Wall, the Ming tombs, the Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Beijing Zoo, etc. They were accompanied by PKU physics undergraduates. Closing Ceremony

The PKU Physics Deptartment gave the students a closing ceremony at the end of their research in Beijing. Each student received a certificate of achievement for successfully participating in the US-China REU Program. Click here to visit the PKU site about the visit.
