The
National Coalition of Girls' Schools and The National Science Foundation
These organizations have a series of resources on girls and technology. Included
are an idea book, a video and resource guide which include tips for parents
and teachers, technology in the classroom, girls on the net, girls and computer
games, girls and work in the 21st century, lesson plans for teachers, and bibliography

Women's Educational Equity Act (WEEA) Publishing Center
WEEA Publishing Center is a national resource center providing gender-fair multicultural materials, training, consulting, and referrals. WEEA Publishing Center is a means to access the latest information in gender equity and to reach experts in the field. For more information, call (800) 225-3088.
The Equity Institute
The Equity Institute develops curriculum with a gender-equity focus for elementary students. Among its projects is "Women In Science" which features fifteen women in science. Includes a video, curriculum, and teacher's guide. For more information, call (301) 654-2904.
Women's Action Alliance
The Women's Action Alliance is a national organization working through community based organizations that has an ongoing commitment to gender equity in education. Produces a two-page publication entitled, "Anti-Bias Checklist" which allows teachers to see how they interact with their students, particularly in math, science, and computer science, to determine to what degree they may demonstrate bias in the classroom. The Women's Action Alliance also attempts to provide resources that work to increase girls interest in math and science. Its most recent project is a three-tiered mentor project entitled, "Buddies Exploring Science Together (BEST)". For more information, call, (212) 532-8330.
EQUALS, Lawrence Hall of Science: University of Calif ornia, Berkeley
EQUAL provides teacher training and curriculum materials to promote female participation in mathematics courses and math based careers. For more information call (510) 642-1823.
Educational Equity Concepts
Educational Equity Concepts, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that develops program materials for teachers and parents. Its focus in science includes programs for very young children and for people who may have been left out of the science pipeline (girls, underrepresented minorities, disabled students). One of its major projects is "Playtime is Science". This program contains hands-on activities that parents can use to get children to begin thinking like scientists. Math/Science Network -- National Expanding Your Horizons 
The Math/Science Network is a non-profit membership organization of educators, scientists, mathematicians, parents, community leaders, and government and corporate representatives whose mission is to promote the continuing development in mathematics and science of all people, with the particular emphasis on the needs of women and girls. The major goal of this organization is to increase the participation, retention, and advancement of girls and women in mathematics, science, and technology. The Math/Science Network is the founding organization and national coordinators for Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics Conferences (EYH). Association of University Women

Association for Women in Science
AWIS
is a national organization dedicated to achieving equity and full participation
for women in science, technology, ![]()
engineering, and math. AWIS was awarded the 1997 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and
Engineering Mentoring! The second of AWISí mentoring programs, this award-winning endeavor established community- based mentoring programs at twelve sites nationwide. Girls
Incorporated/Operation SMART
Operation SMART is a program established by Girls Inc. in 1985 to encourage
girls to persist in math and scienceóand stay on the track towards good jobs
and satisfying lives. Operation SMART is based on research, developed in consultation
with the experts in the field, and rigorously evaluated. This program provides
girls with hands-on experiences and introduces them to careers in science, math
and technology. Operation SMART provides teacher training and support. For more

Agency
Instructional Technology (AIT)
AIT produces and distributes core curriculum videos for K-12 education. There
are over 3000 titles in this collection. An important video series for the classroom
is the "Women in Science" videotape series. For more information,

National
Women's History Project 
The National Women's History Project develops and distributes posters, videos,
and curriculum materials. One important resource for use in math and science
is, "Women, Numbers, and Dreams" . This organization also produces
National Women's History Month Celebration items. For more information, call
