Career and Mentoring Information
Resources--such as the Physics
in Your Future career booklet from the American Physical Society
as
well as handout about equity based career mentoring organizations, and a handout
sampling some of the equity and diversity publications owned by the ISU Physics
Department and used in their career workshops and displays. The American
Physical Society also has a Student
Career Guidance web site as well as additional links
of interest. Finally, parents and others mentoring students for college
have good suggestions--Physics Teacher
Educator Carl Wenning's Advice to all our daughters and sons.
Women Role Models--including Profiles of Women Scientists, as well as students and alumni who have helped with the EYH Conference and other career mentoring activities. I also have links to the two most recent Women's History Month Exhibits that I designed and installed a the Normal Public Library in conjunction with ISU's EYH Conferences:
Learning Activity Resources--such as the Diversity Bingo Game or the Women in Science and Math HERstory Quiz Game that I developed. These games are fun ways to find out more about women's contributions while working together with others to discover the answers.
EYH Conference--the Expanding Your Horizons Through Math, Science, and Technology Conference is an all day career exploration activity with hands-on career oriented workshops with women professionals. EYH Conferences occur at over 60 universities and colleges across the nation each year and have been in existence for 30 years. ISU's 15th Annual EYH Conference will be held April 2, 2005. Link to ISU's EYH Website to learn more about it. You may also link to the National EYH organization website.
