Elections were held for our new officers. Our new advisor is Dr. Holland. Dr. Jay will stay on as the Physics on the Road advisor. Replacing Mike Cliff as president, RJ Linton, the former Vice President. Replacing RJ Linton as Vice President, Andrea Hesselbach, a current freshman. Replacing Tim Garvin as secretary, Andrew Gillespie, a junior. Replacing Matthew Norton as treasurer, Nico Perez-Jandrich, also a new member. Congradulations new officers!
Morton Pumpkin Chuckin'

Our trebuchet, If Reggie Could Fly won first place at Morton's 11th annual Pumpkin Chuckin' Our final shot went a distance of 929 feet (283 meters for those who use SI units). Model Shop manager Jim Dunham, and Physics Club Secretary Tim Garvin were the leaders behind it's design and construction, with help from many other students. Matthew Norton, Jon Moller, Michael Cliff, RJ Linton, Alison O'Connell, Amy Erxleben, and James Kristoff along with others volunteered time for construction, testing, and assistance over the past 18 months as well as help firing the weapon at the event. Physics faculty Dr. George Rutherford and Dr. Jay Ansher also were part of the team. Thanks to our first place finish, we won a cash prize of $200. See the press release here. T-Shirts

The T-shirts are final in. They are navy-blue with silver lettering. On the front they say "Why Physics" on two lines with a red outline of a white Reggie on the first line. On the back it says "Yo?" They are free to those that help out with Physics On The Road and $10 for those who didn't. See Matt for more information on buying a t-shirt.
Movie Night

Because of the recent lawsuit New Yorker Films has on Cinema Society, we are not doing a Bad Science Movie Night until further notice.
