Free Tutoring

  • FREE tutoring is offered Monday through Friday from for the stated times.
  • If the posted hours do not work, or you would like to set up a regular tutor, please contact Andrea to make arrangments. Please note that fees will apply.
  • The hours that Physics Club members have volunteered to be available for tutoring are posted on the door to Moulton 213 and inside the room next to the chalkboard. (Also at the bottom of this page.)
  • We only offer tutoring during the stated hours. Getting tutoring outside of those hours requires advance notice in order for us find an available Physics Club member and make arrangements.
  • Please remember that all of us that tutor have our own classes and work to do, so we may not always be available to help you. We will do our best though.
  • Physics 310 students will be available for extra free tutoring hours to be announced at a later date.

One on One Tutoring

  • The physics club does not offer one-on-one tutoring. We offer a free service to connect tutors with students.
  • Intended for ISU or high school students needing personal/regular help
  • Our tutors charge a rate of $20 per hour of one-on-one tutoring.
  • We ask that the tutor makes a $10 donation to the physics club per hour of one-on-one tutoring. This does not affect the $20 price that the students pay the tutors.
  • The time and place of the tutoring with be set up by the tutee and the tutor
  • If the student is a minor, the tutor must contact the parent or guardian before tutoring begins.
  • One-on-one tutoring should be done off campus, for example: in a public library. Milner Library is a public library.
  • If you have any questions or want help, please contact Andrea at alhesse -at- ilstu.edu

Tutoring Suggestions

  • To help us help you in a more efficient manner, please bring specific problems or questions that you need help with.
    • Remember, we cannot be a substitute for not reading your book or not going to class we are not here to teach you, just help you with concepts that you found difficult
  • We will not help anyone with a Mallard quiz that is active on a computer. If you need help with a Mallard quiz, print off a copy, and we will help you with the problems on it. Then you have to go and attempt the quiz on your own.
  • Please come prepared to the tutoring. This means bring your book, your notes, and any other materials you would use if you were working problems on your own.
  • Please remember that we are NOT in your class, and therefore do not necessarily know what is going on in your class.
  • Your instructor is ALWAYS your best source of information. (i.e. They are the ones grading your homework, quizzes, and tests......not us.)
  • If you still have questions, feel free to e-mail RJ
