Abstract
Quantum wells (QWs) have many potential applications, such as
laser generators and detectors of infrared signals. Due to the
advancement of the molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), a variety of QWs have
been fabricated and studied both experimentally and theoretically.
In this report, we study the GaAs/GaAlAs single QW in
detail. This type of QW is the most commonly used QW. The energy levels
and wave functions are calculated and plotted as functions of the width
and depth of the well.
