Energy of Motion

• Doing work can produce motion, as shown by the velocity gained. The energy of motion is called Kinetic Energy

• Recall momentum: p = m v

Momentum doesnít behave like energy, but the quantity mv2 does. We define kinetic energy

K = 1/2 m v2
